Spectacular original genuine Certificate of Deposit for $1000 First Mortgage bond issued by the National City Bank of New York (now CITIBANK!!) for the Northern Indiana Railway Co. The bond was payable in gold!

Beautifully engraved by the American Banknote Co. using steel plates, this large impressive certificate features a large City Bank seal with sailor and Native American as well as an ornate red border and bold $1000's. It is dated 1927, has a low 2 or 3 digit serial number, and is hand signed by the Assistant Cashier and Transfer Clerk of the Bank. Cancelled along the bottom, otherwise pristine! Collector Value $100 and rising. Scarce, attractive, mint and historic railroad bank bond with 2 big names!
